Summer 2017 |
|
WindAid, PeruThis summer, Sam Pease, Martin Cala, and Madison Barnes will be working with WindAid.
There, they will be learning how to build wind turbines, work with communities, and set up the Engineering team's Particle Electron solar powered monitoring device! |
IBEKA, IndoensiaTyler Wakefield will be returning to Sumba and conducting a follow-up visit to document and analyze the innovative construction process of the decentralized renewable energy microgrid IBEKA continues to build across East Sumba! Tyler will continue the work he began last summer by meeting with community leaders to create sustainable opportunities for community-based income generation post electrification. He would like to create two separate yet related reports to share with IBEKA, the Duke Energy Access community, and all interested in rural energy access: 1) An analysis of the scope, process, and challenges to the renewable microgrid construction 2) A report on the opportunities available for community-based income generation post-electrification.
